Stephanie Forrest, director of the Biodesign Center for Biocomputing, Security and Society at Arizona State University, has been selected as the 2023 recipient of the IEEE CIS Evolutionary Computation Pioneer Award.
The Evolutionary Computation Pioneer Award is a prestigious honor bestowed on significant contributors in the field of computational intelligence. Evolutionary computation refers to computational systems that adapt and improve over time by mimicking the processes of biological evolution.
Forrest was nominated by Professor Erik Goodman from Michigan State University for her contributions to artificial immune systems and fitness landscapes.
Forrest will be honored at an IEEE Computational Intelligence Society ceremony in 2023. The award is sponsored by IEEE, which is the world’s largest professional organization for engineering and technology.
