Jeffrey Wilson, professor of statistics and biostatistics as well as associate dean of research and inclusive excellence in the W. P. Carey School of Business, has been named a 2026 fellow of the American Statistical Association, one of the profession's highest honors. For nearly a century, the organization has elected no more than one-third of 1% of its members each year in recognition of outstanding contributions to statistical science, leadership and service.
"Being named an ASA Fellow is certainly a tremendous honor, but I don't see it as recognition of what I've accomplished as much as an opportunity to do even more for others," Wilson says. "At this stage of my career, I think less about personal achievements and more about how I can use experiences like this to open doors for students and junior faculty."
In his capacity as associate dean of research, Wilson has served as an ambassador connecting W. P. Carey faculty with the Global Futures Scientists and Scholars network.
