The Difference Engine at Arizona State University is accepting applications for the 2026 Atif Moon Distinguished Innovation Fellowship in Environmental Justice & Sustainability through July 31.
Made possible through a gift from philanthropist Munir Moon, this distinguished fellowship provides full funding for one innovator to participate in The Difference Engine's Distinguished Innovation Fellows program. The scholarship supports an individual with an idea that addresses environmental justice or sustainability and is ready to turn that idea into a real-world solution.
The fellowship is part of a nine-month innovation program designed for experienced professionals who want to develop, prototype and launch projects with meaningful community impact. Fellows work alongside faculty mentors, student research assistants and a cohort of peers while drawing on ASU's courses, libraries, labs and other university resources. The program emphasizes designing solutions in partnership with the communities they are intended to serve.
The fellowship is open to applicants with a compelling idea related to environmental justice or sustainability. Whether the concept is a nonprofit initiative, social enterprise, technology, policy solution or other community-based innovation, the program provides the structure, mentorship and resources to help move it from concept to implementation.
