Ramona AI: Expanding Opportunity for Job-Seekers through Fraud Protection

Entendí que el liderazgo es una gran responsabilidad, tienes que guiar a los demás y no solamente guiarlos y hablar por ellos, sino también darles voz a los que no tienen.

I understood that leadership is a great responsibility, you have to guide others, and not only guide them and speak for them, but also give them a voice that they might not have.

As the founder of Ramona AI, Daniela Camberos is committed to expanding access to safe and equitable employment opportunities for disenfranchised communities. Before founding Ramona AI, Daniela worked in human resources, where she was exposed to the issue of university prestige and hierarchy. In Mexico, employers would only hire from prestigious private universities, limiting job opportunities for job-seekers who attended public universities. Daniela recognized the importance of fostering potential, which motivated her to work towards addressing inequalities that made opportunity heavily dependent on socioeconomic background. Her expertise in building systems from the ground up equipped her to create Ramona AI.

Ramona is an AI tool designed to help support users’ career goals while protecting them from job fraud and human trafficking through interview tips and job-offer verification. Using this technology, job-seekers now have access to a resource that expands their opportunities in the workplace and professional fields. Ramona AI is available to everyone via WhatsApp and Telegram. With an accuracy rate of 98% and over 800 individuals protected, Ramona AI is paving the way for women and people from underserved communities to enter the workforce safely, without the risk of exploitation.

Protecting Job-Seekers from Fraud

Daniela received a DM from a woman on LinkedIn who said she had received a job offer from a modeling agency. Using Ramona AI, the woman discovered that the job offer was fraudulent, which helped her avoid the dangers that could have unfolded from giving the agency her personal information. The experience the woman shared with Daniela demonstrated Ramona AI’s impact on the community by verifying job offers, helping prevent human trafficking, and providing peace of mind.

Expanding Access to Opportunity

Ramona AI helps combat socioeconomic disparities by providing career and interview tips to those interested in entering the workforce. Daniela spoke about how universities typically do not offer career-preparation courses to their students, thereby preventing them from effectively presenting themselves on the job market.

Commitment to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Ramona AI is committed to addressing SDGs 5, 8, and 10. Many fraud victims are women. By developing Ramona AI, this product addresses SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and ensures their protection from exploitation and danger. Ramona AI addresses SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by supporting access to safe employment through tools and resources that assist individuals from underserved communities in securing employment. Ramona AI addresses SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by democratizing information and promoting accessibility.

Through her leadership, Daniela recalls moments in her life where people doubted her expertise. By trusting herself and her experience, Daniela persevered and overcame pushback from others who lacked confidence in her leadership. As she explains, “Yo seguí mi voz interna… que no se rindan, que no escuchen a los demás,” advising women entrepreneurs to follow their own voice and not let others get in the way of what they envision.

“I followed my internal voice, so that would be the same advice [I give to others], don’t give up, don’t listen to others, you are experts and understand your challenges.”
Daniela believes that leadership comes with significant responsibility, and works toward giving a voice to people who may not have one of their own. While Ramona AI is currently helping and inspiring change in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, and Chile, Daniela envisions a future where Ramona AI will be available to people in Brazil, Africa, and Europe.
