Free ASU research editing

ASU Research Development offers free research editing services to help you strengthen grant proposals, publications, and other scholarly writing. You should consider using this service when you want to improve clarity, logic, and overall coherence—especially before submission to a funder or publisher.

Editors review for structure, readability, and alignment with agency or journal guidelines. They also check grammar, spelling, and consistency, helping you avoid issues that could distract reviewers. This support can be particularly useful if you are writing in English as a second language or revising based on reviewer feedback.

Services are available to ASU faculty, research staff, and postdocs serving as PI or Co-PI on proposals, as well as for first-authored publications and book-related materials. KE Research Development works on a first-come, first-served basis, with grant proposals prioritized and typical turnaround times of about three days for proposals and up to ten days for other documents.

You should submit near-final drafts and include reviewer comments when applicable. Edits are provided using track changes, and all submissions are treated as confidential. The goal is simple: provide a fresh set of expert eyes to help strengthen your work before it reaches reviewers.
