GFORDS presents workshop to empower faculty using Pivot

The Global Futures Office of Research Development and Strategy was invited by Kiki Jenkins, the Associate Director for Research in the School for the Future of Innovation in Society, to present a workshop for the school's Collaborative Research Series. The workshop was titled Level Up Your Research Funding Strategy with Pivot, led by Michelle Schwartz with support from Leah Gaines-Sewell and Shaundiin Yazzie. We had nine SFIS faculty members in attendance. Participants were very engaged throughout, and when they left, all seemed excited to continue refining their profiles and searches on their own.

Event host Kiki Jenkins reports that she received positive feedback from every faculty member who attended, including these paraphrased comments:

  1. I already messaged two other faculty members and told them they need to sign up for Pivot, because it has funding in their areas.
  2. This is exactly what we should be doing with this time as faculty
  3. I understand how to move forward now
  4. This was great. I’m excited to keep working on this.
