Phoenix and Tempe Water Festivals Volunteer Opportunity

The Arizona Water Festival Program is a water education unit developed and delivered by Arizona Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) through Univeristy of Arizona Water Resources Research Center. Arizona Water Festivals instill a deeper understanding of water in the earth system and Arizona's water resources, through a community water festival event, teacher professional development, and extensive volunteer and community involvement.

At a Water Festival event, volunteers contribute to their community and celebrate science and water stewardship by guiding hands-on learning activities that activate a deeper understanding of key water ideas in Arizona students.

Arizona Project WET and the City of Phoenix are hosting their Third Annual Pendergast Water Festival on Friday, February 20th, 2026, at Westwind Elementary School.

More Water Festivals are being held across the Phoenix area, including the 1st Annual Tempe Water Festival on February 3rd, 2026. These are all excellent opportunities to participate as volunteers or educators and network with city, state, school district and industry professionals.
