Inside Our First GFL Coffee Chat

What happens when you mix strong coffee, curious minds, and over thirty people from across the Global Futures Laboratory? You get our first Coffee Chat! Hosted by the Office of Research Development and Strategy (ORDS), the morning was full of ideas, laughter, and new connections that stretched from GFL leadership all the way to undergraduate students.

On November 18th the third-floor lobby, faculty, postdocs, graduate researchers, undergraduate assistants, and staff from a wide range of research and engagement units came together to connect. The goal of Coffee Chat is to build community and bring together people who contribute to GFL’s mission from many different angles. Some attendees were meeting our team for the first time, while others were reconnecting after years of hybrid work. We have since had a successful December Coffee Chat and are looking forward to hosting more in the spring!

Get to know our team by attending the next coffee chat and expect more chances to meet the ORDS team, learn about proposal resources, and share what support you need most. If you couldn’t make it this time, keep an eye out for the next invitation, and don’t forget your mug.
