Project Cities is excited to announce the release of its summer and fall 2023 project summary reports for the Town of Miami, the Town of Gilbert, the City of Chandler, and the City of Apache Junction. The final summary reports are the combined efforts of 108 undergraduate and graduate students from 7 ASU courses. The reports will provide valuable insights, background research, and out-of-the-box strategies to assist our partner communities in decision-making.
Community Analysis: Leveraging Data for Strategic Development - Town of Miami
Graduate urban planning students gathered and synthesized community data to create a “state of Miami” for the Town.

Undergraduate sustainability students used the SOPARC framework, a validated observation tool, to assess park usage and equity and provide recommendations on improvements for the City.

Exploring Regional Opportunities for Collaboration & Partnerships - Town of Gilbert
Graduate public affairs students collaborated with the Town of Gilbert to explore collaboration and partnership best practices locally and globally, identify successful agreements to provide exemplars for future opportunities, and provide recommendations to galvanize impactful regional collaboration around solid waste services.

Graduate students studying technical communication collaborated with the Solid Waste & Recycling Services and Environmental Compliance teams to propose content and formats for communicating these messages to a variety of resident audiences, as well as propose methods to effectively distribute this information throughout the Town of Gilbert.
