Bringing data to decision making for conservation and biodiversity

CBO Director Leah Gerber and Assistant Director Gwen Iacona edited a special collection for PLOS Biology focused on the complex problem of translating conservation and biodiversity research from the field into the real world. By bringing in disciplines like economics, policy, and social justice into conservation, the collection aims to demonstrate how research can and should respond to the needs of decision-makers.

Their editorial for the collection, "Aligning data with decisions to address the biodiversity crisis," highlights the importance of science-backed, data-driven strategies for decision-making in order to effectively address the human-driven causes of biodiversity loss.
