CBO affiliate and senior vice president of Conservation International's Center for Regenerative Economies, Dr. Jack Kittinger led a perspectives piece in Ocean Sustainability looking at the balance between marine protection and sustainable production in pelagic ecosystems, in light of the rapid acceleration of the interconnected biodiversity and climate crises. The authors identified what research is needed to coordinate both protection and production at scale while working within international standards for development and sustainability.
