We live in an era of rapid societal and environmental changes. Arizona State University's Narrative Storytelling Initiative wants to know: how do you envision the future?
The initiative, in collaboration with the Global Futures Laboratory, the Environmental Humanities Initiative and the Institute for Humanities Research, is holding a story and essay contest to capture your idea of what the future holds.
The contest, called Envisioning the Future, will be judged by an interdisciplinary group of ASU faculty with expertise in climate science, sustainability, creative writing and environmental literature. Steven Beschloss, the director of the Narrative Storytelling Initiative and an award-winning writer, editor and filmmaker will be among the judges. All pieces should use concrete knowledge of the present to create a realistic picture of what the future might hold. Resulting work will be aimed for publication and cash prizes will be offered for three finalists. The deadline to submit an article is May 19, 2020 at 11:59pm.
